The Context
A well-known brand with something new to say all year round.
Millie’s Cookies was already a familiar retail brand with a distinctive personality and product.
The opportunity for MASS was not to reinvent that identity.
It was to help keep it active.
Across a 12-month relationship, MASS worked closely with the Millie’s team to develop a range of digital and printed advertising supporting different seasonal and promotional moments.
Recovered campaign work includes Christmas, Father’s Day and Summer Shakes, showing how the creative needed to move between very different occasions while still feeling unmistakably Millie’s.
MASS was asked to help make that possible.

The Challenge
Different occasions. One recognisable brand.
Seasonal retail creative has a deceptively simple job.
It has to feel new enough to get noticed, while remaining familiar enough to be recognised instantly.
Christmas requires a completely different tone from Father’s Day.
A summer drinks promotion needs another shift again.
But every execution still has to belong to the same brand.
That meant understanding more than just the logo, colours or existing artwork style.
MASS needed to understand how Millie’s communicated, what made the brand distinctive and how far the creative could flex before it stopped feeling like Millie’s.
The challenge was therefore:
create variety without losing consistency.

The Idea
Learn the brand first. Then make it move.
The strongest part of the original MASS 1.0 account is the way the relationship worked.
MASS operated as an extension of the Millie’s team, getting to know the brand “inside out” so that new campaigns could be managed and delivered seamlessly.
That became the principle behind the work.
Rather than approaching each campaign as a disconnected design exercise, MASS worked from a growing understanding of the brand.
The occasion could change.
The product focus could change.
The tone could change.
But the brand remained recognisable.

The Work
Seasonal creative built to work across print and digital.
MASS developed advertising creative across a series of retail moments.
Recovered work includes:
CHRISTMAS Seasonal promotional creative designed to bring festive character into the established Millie’s brand.
FATHER’S DAY Occasion-led advertising giving the product a clear gifting role while retaining the brand’s approachable personality.
SUMMER SHAKES Brighter, product-led summer creative extending the campaign language beyond cookies into seasonal drinks.
Across the work, the requirement was consistent:
strong product presence, immediate message recognition and creative that could translate across digital and printed formats.

How It Worked
Embedded rather than external.
The relationship was deliberately collaborative.
Over approximately 12 months, MASS worked closely enough with the internal Millie’s team to build a detailed understanding of the brand rather than repeatedly starting from a cold brief.
That mattered.
The better the brand was understood, the easier it became to make decisions quickly, protect consistency and move campaigns from idea through to delivery.

The Result
Consistency without creative repetition.
Across the relationship, MASS created a range of digital and printed advertising capable of supporting different products and seasonal moments without losing the established Millie’s identity.
The creative could flex from festive gifting to Father’s Day messaging and summer product promotion, while the underlying brand remained coherent.
What we can demonstrate is something commercially valuable in its own right:
MASS became sufficiently embedded in an established consumer brand to manage and deliver repeated campaign work across multiple occasions and channels.

Why It Matters
Good brand work is not always about changing the brand.
Sometimes the harder job is knowing what not to change.
Millie’s Cookies already had recognition, personality and an established visual language.
MASS’s role was to work within that framework while continually finding enough freshness to make each campaign relevant to the moment.
That required:
brand understanding, creative judgement, seasonal campaign thinking, multichannel delivery and close collaboration with an internal team.
For prospective clients and employers, that is an important capability.
It shows that MASS can create something new from scratch when required, but can also step into an established organisation, understand an existing brand quickly and add value without imposing unnecessary change.
Learn the brand. Understand the moment. Keep it recognisable. Make it relevant.
